“The Blue Planet” Icelandic tour

Between 16-22 September we visited Iceland with a production of “The Blue Planet” as part of the “Blue Planet” project financed from EEA funds. Guests included the actors, technical crew and organisers. To start with, we presented the play in the Tjarnarbíó theatre in Reykjavik, run by the project partner, the Association of Independent Theatres in Iceland. The audience comprised, among others, Lech Mastalerz, Polish Ambassador to Iceland, his wife Barbara, Vigdís Jakobsdóttir, head of the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People (ASSITEJ) in Iceland,  Andri Snær Magnason, author of the play, with his family, director Erling Jóhannesson, musicians from the band múm,Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, as well as journalists from Iceland News Polska, the dynamic portal of the Polish minority in Iceland. Later we set off for picturesque Akureyri in the north of the country where we gave two performances in the beautiful Samkomuhúsið theatre from 1906, run by the Leikfelag Akureyrar company. On the way back we managed to see the area around Lake Mývatn.
